Prof. Ištvan Bikit je u toku školske 2017-2018. držao nastavu na doktorskim studijama na Prirodno-matematičkom fakultetu u Novom Sadu iz sledećih predmeta:

      1. Osnovne interakcije i struktura atomskog jezgra
      2. Retki nuklearni procesi

Nosilac je projekta pod nazivom: Nuklearne metode istraživanja retkih događaja i kozmičkog zračenja (broj OI171002), koji finansira Ministarstvo za prosvetu nauku i tehnološki razvoj Republike Srbije.
Član matičnog odbora za fiziku Republičkog Ministarstva za prosvetu nauku i tehnološki razvoj.

Bio je član Matičnog odbora za fiziku Republičkog ministarstva za prosvetu, nauku i tehnološki razvoj. Držao je predavanja iz Višeg kursa nuklearne fizike i Nuklearne instrumentacije i Detektora zračenja na akademskim master studijama i iz Eksperimentalnih tehnika i metoda nuklearne fizike, Osnovnih interakcija i strukture atomskog jezgra i nuklearnih analitičkih tehnika na doktorskim akademskim studijama Departmana za fiziku, Prirodno-matematičkog fakulteta u Novom Sadu. U junu 2014. Univerzitet u Novom Sadu je prof. Bikita promovisao u zvanje profesora emeritusa.
Rukovodilac je projekta „Nuklearne metode istraživanja retkih događaja i kosmičkog zračenja“ koje finansira Republičko Ministarstvo za prosvetu, nauku i tehnološki razvoj. Pristupno predavanje u VANU pod nazivom Svetla zemlja, taman svemir održao je 28. februara 2014.

Izabran je za dopisnog člana VANU 2013. godine.
Dobio je nagradu za životno delo Udruženja univerzitetskih nastavnika krajem 2013. godine. Kao predavač po pozivu boravio je na Prince of Songkla University (Hat Yai, Tajland).
Radio je kao član Matičnog odbora za fiziku Republičkog ministarstva za prosvetu, nauku i tehnološki razvoj.
Držao je predavanja iz Višeg kursa nuklearne fizike i Nuklearne instrumentacije na master studijama i iz Eksperimentalnih tehnika i metoda nuklearne fizike i Osnovnih interakcija i strukture atomskog jezgra na doktorskim studijama Departmana za fiziku, PMF-a u Novom Sadu.
