Areas of Research
Engaged in the scientific and research work in the field of inorganic, that is, coordination chemistry and founder of scientific research in these branches of chemistry at the University of Novi Sad. The subject of his scientific interests are syntheses, physical-chemical, structural, and more recently, biological examinations of new complex compounds of transition metals with different classes of N-, O-, S-, Se- and P- binding polydentate organic ligands, among which prevail ligands of the Schiff base type and pyrazole derivatives.

Faculty Lectures
Teaches at the Faculty of Sciences in the subjects of General Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry I, Inorganic Chemistry II. Earlier he held lectures to students of the same Faculty in Coordination Chemistry. He taught students of the Faculty of Sciences in Priština, that is Kosovska Mitrovica, and the Faculty of Metallurgy and Technology in Podgorica classes in Inorganic Chemistry and an Advanced course of Inorganic Chemistry.

He is the co-author of 165 scientific papers, most of which (148) were published in international journals. He has more than 900 citations (ISI), with around 600 being the citations by other authors. He has a highly developed scientific cooperation with many researchers from abroad. He led the creation and development of 6 long-term scientific projects, one of which was bilateral (with Slovenia). Now he leads one Republic and one Provincial project. He has supervised 11 doctoral dissertations and 3 master’s theses. Under his supervision there were 80 graduate theses, reports delivered at scientific conferences, awarded student papers, student topics within the Republic Center for Talents, etc. He is a permanent associate of the Petnica Research Center and Republic Center for Talents. He is the author of one textbook and co-author of two practicums and one scientific monograph. He was the Director of the Institute of Chemistry, President of the Teaching Council of the Faculty of Sciences in Novi Sad as well as the president and member of the Commission for professional exams in Chemistry. He was a member of the Expert Committee and Committee for Academic Titles of the Ministry of Science and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Serbia. Now he is the member of the Ministry Board (for Chemistry) and referee of the Commission for Accreditation of the National Council for Higher Education of the Republic of Serbia. Long-term member of the Scientific Advisory Board for chemists in Serbia. Distinguished member of the Serbian Chemical Society (2000). Winner of the First Prize of the Ministry of Science (2004), Provinicial Secetariate of Science and Technological Development of Vojvodina (2006), as well as of the October Award of Novi Sad (2006).
