Poetry, narrative prose, novel, essays, literary criticism, satire, television and film scripts, adaptations, anthologies. He has published around 1200 works and 25 books. In literature, he was active as a member of the Editorial Board of Pokret (1959-1961), the editor of the Culture Column, and later the Satirical Column in Index (1963-1969), editor of Polja (1968-1970), the Editor in Chief of Polja (1971-1974), the editor of Literary Publications RU “R. Ćirpanov” (1975–1978), the initiator and Editor in Chief of Domet (1975-1979), the Secretary of the Association of Writers of Vojvodina (1978-1982), Editor in Chief of the Chronicle of Matica Srpska (1980-1991), the editor of the Chair of Matica Srpska, after which he went into retirement. He was the President of the Association of Writers of Vojvodina (1983-1985), and the member of the Presidential Board of the League of Writers of Yugoslavia (1978-1986). He was a council member of Struga Poetry Evenings, The Literary Word, Publishing Departments of Dnevnik and Domet. He was the President of the Jury of “Branko’s Award” of the Association of Writers of Vojvodina and Dnevnik’s Jury for journalism articles, and a member of the Jury for the “Milan Bogdanović” Award of the Cultural and Educational Association of Serbia, “Zmaj’s Award” of Matica Srpska (1982-1991), and the NIN Jury for the Best Novel of the Year (1999-2001). He was a member of the Governing and Executive Board of Matica Srpska and a member of the Presidential Board of the Cultural and Educational Association of Vojvodina. He is also a member of the Department for Literature of Matica Srpska.

He has compiled the book of proceedings Index’s Textbook (Index, Novi Sad, 1968) and “Pokret” anthology of poetry The Light Nature of Words (Pokret, Sombor, 1970), and as Editor in Chief he edited the monograph Vojvodina- Landscapes and People (Dnevnik, Novi Sad, 2005 and 2006, in English). Three television specials were recorded about him and his literary work: The Landscape at the Root of Poetics, scripted and directed by P. Marić (RTVNS, 1981); And When I Look Back, scripted by J. Tamaš, directed by Z. Šarić (RTVNS, 1986); Herbarium of Words, scripted by S. Smederevac, directed by Đ. Mrđa (RTV Belgrade, 2000).
